The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change invites expressions of interest to co-develop policy priority documents translating the latest health–climate evidence into targeted, national-level recommendations aligned with COP timelines.

Applications close 18 May 2026.

Eligible applicants

Applications will be considered only from:

• National or regional health professional bodies with established policy engagement functions, e.g., medical, nursing, midwifery, public health, or equivalent professional associations

• Academic institutes only in formal partnership with a qualifying medical/health professional association.

While eligibility for this call is limited to the organisations listed above, we are keen to collaborate with NGOs, INGOs, civil society organisations, community‑based and grassroots groups, patient and lived‑experience networks, advocacy coalitions, youth‑led organisations, and philanthropic or mission‑driven partners etc. across other important streams of work, and welcome you to get in touch if interested. 

Selection criteria

Applications will be prioritised where partners demonstrate:

• Clear and credible pathways to government engagement 

• Established mechanisms for policy dissemination and uptake 

• Ability to translate evidence into actionable national or sectoral recommendations 

• Strong alignment with ministry-level or regulatory stakeholders

• Technical support in drafting and evidence synthesis 

• Coordination support for policy product development 

• Global dissemination support via the Lancet Countdown platform 

Note: No financial support is provided. Final design and publication support is provided centrally by the Lancet Countdown.
