Dr Liz-Marié Basson is the Regional Centre Programme Manager for the Lancet Countdown Africa. She oversees the coordination and operational delivery of the Centre, including programme integration, monitoring, evaluation, learning and impact assessment (MELIA), as well as reporting and stakeholder coordination for the Centre’s work on climate and health across Africa.
Liz-Marié has over a decade of experience in grant management, programme coordination, and managing complex multi-partner initiatives. She also serves as Hub Manager for the United Nations University Hub on Resilient Environment, Agriculture, Climate and Health for Africa, and as a Project Manager within South Africa’s Institute for Pandemic Preparedness, supporting large interdisciplinary research and policy initiatives.
