Dr Joan Ballester is an Associate Research Professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). He is the coordinator of the ERC Consolidator Grant EARLY-ADAPT (https://www.early-adapt.eu/) on the social drivers of the early adaptation response to climate change in the area of human health in Europe. He is also the coordinator of the ERC Proof-of-Concept Grants HHS-EWS and FORECAST-AIR, combining weather and air pollution forecasting with environmental epidemiology, to develop fit-for-purpose, impact-based early warning systems of disease risk.
